Megan's Approach
My approach to photography is centered on capturing images that authentically reflect the moment. Before each photoshoot, I provide detailed questionnaires to gain a deeper understanding of the individuals involved and to align with the vision for the session. During the shoot, I incorporate a balance of timeless poses and creative prompts, designed to encourage natural interactions. By blending familiar poses with engaging activities, I aim to help each subject feel at ease, allowing genuine moments to unfold and be preserved in the final images.
The M.Kalef Photography Process
initial consultation
Whether you've found me on social media, been referred by a friend/family member, or stumbled upon my website via Google. The first step will be to get familiar with my work, my prices, and your photography team. For my lifestyle portrait clients, I encourage you to take some time to review my website prior to contacting me. Should you have any questions or wish to discuss further, my emails are open should you wish to contact me! During this step of the wedding process, I encourage you to contact me so that we can arrange for a virtual consultation and evaluate fit!
Submit Inquiry
Once you've decided that M.Kalef Photography is the right fit for you, it's time to submit your photoshoot inquiry.
Finalize Booking & Submit Deposit
Once I've manually approved your photoshoot booking, you will receive an email (using the email provided during the booking inquiry), that prompts you to complete the rest of the booking process (i.e., complete questionnaires, contacts (if applicable), submit your deposit).
Pre-Session Planning
This is one of the most important steps within the photoshoot process. For my lifestyle portrait clients, this is the step that allows me to understand and assist you in making your vision come to life! This can be done through the planning of: prompts and poses, photoshoot location, client outfits, props (if needed), and more! For my wedding photography clients, this is the part of the process that also includes reviewing all important documentation such as wedding day schedules, shot lists, and more.
Photoshoot Day
The day that you've been waiting for has finally arrived. Take some time prior to the photoshoot to ensure that you've got everything prepared that you need for the session (e.g., props, clothing, and more). Upon meeting at the desired photoshoot location, I will give everyone a minute to adjust to the location, as well as having myself (the photographer) around. Once everyone is ready to go, I will begin the photoshoot - guiding you through fun poses and prompts to ensure that the photoshoot is memorable and you leave with a smile on your face.
Post-Processing
For my lifestyle portrait clients, this part of the process typically takes anywhere from 1 to 2 weeks to complete, depending on the time of the year. For my wedding clients, this part of the process can take anywhere from 1-3 months, depending on the time of year.
